Spring & Fall Greenhouse

Fall Depotting Event

An Autum ritual, volunteers with Edmonds in Bloom gather at Edmonds City Park maintenance are for the Flower Basket Depotting  event.   The plants and soils are used to create a rich compost for next year's plantings throughout the city.

The Cycle of Life for Edmonds Flower Baskets.

Each February, volunteers with Edmonds in Bloom assist with planting the starts in flats. The plants eight weeks later are then put into over 150 basket liners.   Around June, as the flowers start to bloom, the liners are removed from the greenhouse, put into baskets, and hung around downtown on light poles.   In the Autum, as the annuals begin to look tired towards the end of their life, City workers gather all the hanging baskets to then be disassembled by Edmonds in Bloom volunteers.
