FAQs

Edmonds in Bloom is an all-volunteer 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization working to promote the floral beautification of the community.

Edmonds in Bloom unites the residents, organizations and businesses of Edmonds by celebrating flowers in Edmonds and showcasing gardens and floral displays, supporting horticultural education and creating a vibrant and colorful place to live, work and visit.

The 2024 Garden Tour is scheduled for Sunday, July 21st

During the month of June, teams of volunteers will visit neighborhoods and businesses talking to homeowners and business owners about placing Edmonds in Bloom flags in their yards, displays or pots.

It is our way of saying Thank You to all the local gardeners and business owners for helping to make Edmonds beautiful!  Be sure to look for the flags this summer and pause a moment to appreciate the efforts of adding to the beauty of Edmonds.

Edmonds in Bloom endeavors to create a colorful and vibrant community through sponsorship and support of gardening activities. Our volunteers delight in showcasing gardens, supporting horticultural education, and celebrating the floral beauty of the community.

Recent projects include:

  • Funding for a garden refresh at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.
  • Funding for new planters at 4th and Dayton in downtown Edmonds
  • Funding for several local school gardens

The best way to get involved is by filling out our Volunteer Assessment Form. This way you can tell us what you are most interested in.

Garden Tour Committee – Committee meets throughout the year identifying gardens and planning and coordinating ideas for the upcoming Tour. There are also a variety of volunteer opportunities on the day of the Tour, which is the third Sunday in July.

Garden Recognition Committee – In June, teams of volunteers canvas Edmonds neighborhoods looking for lovely front gardens to recognize with an Edmonds in Bloom ‘flag’

Kids Plant – On the Saturday before Mother’s Day, at our booth at the Edmonds Farmers Market, volunteers help children select pails and plants and help them with creating a gift.

Spring and Fall Greenhouse Events – Each fall, our dedicated group of volunteers helps The City of Edmonds clean up (“de-pot”) the 100+ hanging baskets from downtown streets. In the Spring, volunteers help with transplanting ‘plugs’ (seedlings) into larger pots, which are eventually planted into baskets and corners throughout downtown.
