- Cedarbrook Lavender and Herb Farm Built in the late 1800s, the historic Bell House, was once a 160-acre homestead to Sequim, Washington's second settler, John Bell, an Englishman who came to the Pacific Northwest to work for the Hudson Bay Company.
Fast forward 100+ years to 1967, Karen McReynolds cultivated the land surrounding the Bell House and launched Cedarbrook Lavender and Herb Farm, the first herb farm in Washington State that had a focus of handcrafted lavender goods and herb plants. SEQUIM

- Bellevue Botanical Garden is a botanical garden east of downtown Bellevue, Washington on Main Street. Established in 1992, many different organizations work to maintain the garden to keep it free of charge. What began as a 7-acre gift to the city in the early 1980s has now become a 53-acre public park with multiple gardens. - Center for Urban Horticulture University of Washington
The Center for Urban Horticulture, opened in 1984, is part of the University of Washington Botanic Gardens. It includes a 16-acre landscaped site with buildings and gardens, and the 74-acre Union Bay Natural Area, which provides publicly accessible wildlife habitat (more than 200 bird species have been sighted there) and an outdoor laboratory for UW research. The UW Botanic Gardens’ administrative offices are housed in Merrill Hall, along with associated faculty and research laboratories and greenhouses. - Chase Garden Located in Orting, Washington, just one hour south of Seattle, is a special 4 1/2 acre garden. It sits on a bluff that overlooks the Puyallup River Valley with a spectacular view of Mt Rainier.

- Dunn Gardens is a privately owned 7.5-acre (3.0 ha) property composed of the remaining acreage of the estate of Arthur G. Dunn Sr., who bought the property in 1914 as a summer get-a-way for his family, and contracted the landscaping to the Olmsted Brothers. Upon his death, the property was inherited by his children. His son Edward B. Dunn provided for the care of his share of the estate in his will. A trust was created two years after his death to oversee the entire property. Dunn Gardens were listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 1994, and is open for special public events and docent-led guided tours April through July, and from September through October. 13533 Northshire Rd NW, Seattle

Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens is 3 ½ acres of beauty in American Legion Memorial Park, Everett Washington. Maintained by a small army of volunteers and garden curators with help from Everett Parks and Community Services, its eleven themed gardens include the Urban Tree Walk, Rock Garden, Northwest Native Plant Trail, Japanese Maple Grove, Nativar Garden, Backyard Garden, Horizontal Rock Garden, Viewing Mound, Woodland Garden & Fernery and Conifer Gardens as well as the Snohomish County Master Gardeners’ Demonstration Border.
- The Highline Botanical Garden The Highline Botanical Garden Foundation was originally formed to save and rebuild Elda Behm's 'Paradise Garden', which was imperiled by the proposed expansion of SeaTac Airport. The project has been expanded to build a full-fledged botanical garden for the Highline community, incorporating Elda's Paradise Garden as a central element.
- Heronswood Garden People depend on plants. The Heronswood Garden seeks to inspire community with its plant collections and charismatic landscapes, to educate on the connections between plants and people, to encourage to protect plants and their natural habitats, and to appreciate the great diversity of plants and the people who care for them.The Heronswood Garden began in 1987 and comprises 15 acres in Western Washington’s Kitsap County. Heronswood protects a vast array of plants from around the world, with over 8,000 different varieties spread across six distinct yet integrated gardens. Purchased by the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe in 2012, Heronswood now serves as a showcase for tribal culture and operates under the auspices of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
- Kruckeberg Botanic Garden is a 4 acre botanical garden located in Shoreline, Washington. It is currently a private residence, open to the public at designated hours which alternate seasonally. It is also open for tours, by appointment, and for horticultural workshops.The garden was first begun in 1958 by Prof. Arthur Rice Kruckeberg, University of Washington, and his wife Mareen Schultz Kruckeberg. A foundation was formed in 1998 to preserve their garden, and in 2003 it received an easement to preserve the garden in perpetuity. 20312 15th Ave NW, ShorelineThe garden contains a mix of native species with non-native specimens, mainly from China and Japan. It includes exotic conifers (larches, sequoias, pines, firs, spruces, and hemlocks); hardwoods, especially oaks and maples; rhododendrons, magnolias, a unique wingnut, and many other woody plants, as well as notable displays of ferns, cyclamens, wood sorrel, and inside-out flower.

- Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens are nonprofit gardens located at 3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank, Washington. They are open daily; admission is $5.00. The gardens were founded by Ann and Max Meerkerk in the early 1960s on 13 acres (53,000 m2), and served as a site where they collected and hybridized rhododendrons. They gradually expanded the garden to 10 acres (40,000 m2) of rhododendrons surrounded by an additional 43 acres (170,000 m2) of woodlands. Ann Meerkerk left the gardens to the Seattle Rhododendron Society in 1979. Today the garden features more than 1,500 varieties of rhododendron species and hybrids.
- Lake Wilderness Arboretum- located in the heart of Maple Valley, is a sanctuary that inspires, educates and connects visitors to the natural world. Started in 1965 by volunteers dedicated to establishing an arboretum in south King County it is now made up of 42-acres of cultivated gardens and trails through a second growth forest in the midst of a rapidly developing area. Quite a change from the airplane landing strip for the local lake resort that they were given. The Lake Wilderness Arboretum features one of the largest collections of Rhododendron occidentale in the world along with a large collection of Japanese maples, vine maples, rhododendrons, hydrangeas and dwarf conifers.

When fully built, the garden will be one of the largest Chinese gardens outside of China.
