Alki Beach Flower Houses

Situated in the Alki Beach, West Seattle, the Flower Houses add a dynamic and distinctive touch to Alki Avenue, nestled amidst towering condominiums. These two extraordinary residences, owned by Randie Stone, are a local gem and a prominent attraction for tourists. Dating back to 1914, these homes have gracefully weathered the tide of urban development in the coveted West Seattle neighborhood.  Randie's 1914 homes sit side-by-side. Both are bursting with blooms. So much so that they look like one home.  They are tucked in between high-rise condominiums. A blast of every color in between the gray and brown buildings alongside.

Randie Stone, who acquired the houses in 1989 following her move from Hawaii, credits the islands' influence for the vibrant burst of flora that embellishes her homes. Bursting with hues of red, purple, and pink, the blossoms create a striking contrast against the verdant greenery cascading from every window box. The Flower Houses boast additional amenities, including a public water fountain and a driftwood swing, providing an inviting space to unwind and soak in the surroundings.

Recognized as an official wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation, these houses attract a diverse array of visitors. Stone's garden sanctuary serves as a refuge for not only birds, bees, and butterflies but also for curious travelers eager to immerse themselves in her artistic vision and savor the scenic allure.

Randie doesn't have a website. She's not selling anything. She just does it because she wants to share it with the world.

The houses showcase their best floral display in June when the flowers are at their peak bloom.
